MONESE STOLE MY WAGES

FROZE MY ACCOUNT HOURS AFTER WAGES WERE PAID IN, ITS NOW BEEN 3 WEEKS, I CANT PAY MY RENT, IN SERIOUS FINANCIAL AND HEALTH PROBLEMS AND STAFF HAVE BEEN RUDE, UNHELPFUL AND UNINTERESTED. WILL NEVER USE SOMETHING LIKE THIS AGAIN.

I had an account with Monese but they blocked my account, even though I contacted their customer support before transfering money from my Transferwise borderless account to my Monese account, my partner have Monese as well that's why I tried it.
I transferred 6000euros from my Monese Account to another Monese account but it's more than their daily outgoing transfer limit, so it was held, after several email and callings for almost two months without getting any information other than we will escalate your case to the respective team, I finally got an email that my account was closed and will get my money in 28 working days, yesterday marked 28 working days and nothing from them, this is 6000euros for christ sake, how can you just not keep to your promise as a financial institution? people are trusting you with their money, I thought I could too and the mistake I made was not reading reviews online before dealing with you. Refunding money back shouldn't even take up to 28 working days, what are you refunding? the whole of European Central Bank?
Please give me my money back for goodness sake.

They indicate that it is a temporary blockade, now 5 days later and I do not know anything yet.

Do you want bad service and lose your money then you're good at Monese.

Account blocked

This is a joke, my account has been restricted for 2 month. I cant withdraw my funds. Very bad customer service. I have to get the Financial Ombudsmen service.....I advice do not use!!!

I've been banking with Monese for approx 9 months now and didn't run into many issues. Unfortunately I recently experienced trouble with one of my (international) transactions. According their email the payment was held by Monese as they wanted to do some security checks. As you can imagine I was very unpleasantly surprised by this and at first I even thought the email wasn't coming from Monese at all (don't get me wrong, but why should a bank email me when they have a secured messaging system in their app?) so I grabbed the phone and called their customer service centre (Yes, they where open on a bank holiday Monday!).

The customer service agent on the phone didn't speak proper English (he was French) and we quickly had a view misunderstandings resulting in me feeling not being valued as a customer. Needles to say that I got pretty annoyed and after a quick Google search I found out that multiple people experienced the same issues as I had. This made me feel pretty unpleasant and I decided to sent an email to Monese and leave a 1 star review here on TrustPilot.

Within the hour I received a phone call from Monese. My first thought was, O no, here we go.. My account will be blocked, all my money is gone. But.. It was actually the opposite! The supervisor himself called (on bank holiday monday, after 17.00 hours!) and explained why Monese temporary held the payment and apologised for the misunderstandings caused by his team members. He told his site of the story and I told him my site of the story (explaining where the payment was coming from, where it went to and why I decided to use Monese as the middle man). The supervisor was very understanding and offered me two solutions which both where acceptable for me (in both cases I would receive my money within a day or so back).

Long story short, if Monese holds a transaction and you haven't breached their terms and conditions they are absolutely willing to work out a solution for you and resolve the issue as soon as possible. This also counts for issues regarding their shared IBAN number. Simply drop them a message in the secured chat in the app or give them a call and within the hour they've located your money and put it into your account!

If you going Customer’s account, you might as well return Back the funds to the sender if you do suspect fraudulent activity.

Only downside I have found is that it costs £5 to get a debit card. But if you use the promo code YRQTF2PP when signing up, you get £5 into your account when you first deposit £10 to it. But Monese does not require proof of address like all other uk banks, so opening up a bank account with Monese have been incredibly easy. Also, transferring money from my other non-UK bank account via the instant visa top up has been really quick and has saved me quite a lot of money in transaction fees.

until I had on the 500 euro bill all right as soon as I received an amount of 10,000 euros they freeze account. they ask for documents I give them. they ask for other documents I provide them. in short, all that they ask! then they disappear. I write emails monese nothing answer
they disappear. I feel bad .. I'm physically sick. I do not know how to tell my wife that I got 10,000 euros cheated. I feel sick .
then after 10 days they write to me that they want to close the account . I write email okay give me my money back. all money that I have! these scammers tell me that I have to wait at least 40 days before I can get my money back. I tremble.
