I find the Better off Calculator to be a great tool to understanding the gap between benefits and potential earnings. It gives the individual great motivation to strive for better. It is so easy to use and friendly as well.

It is so easy to use and friendly as well. I have used it to help my customers before so they can see how much better off they would be in work and convinced some of them, for single parents it put their mind at ease as to what grants they are still entitled to. Also the last bit where you can play with the hours and pay and see what you will be entitled to and how much better off you will be in work, it's my favourite part. This is a comprehensive calculator that actually benefits people and can help them make informed decisions that can impact their lives. I have used this tool to help a number of people realise how much they can be better off working compared to UC. Training to use it is clear and straight forward, and it is user friendly.
