Would be lost without this calculator

My wages fluctuate on a weekly basis and the calculator helps me to understand how this will affect my UC each month! Reviewed on: 4th July 2023

Great Software

5
I feel confident using the Policy in Practice Benefit Calculator tool when advising clients. The layout for entering information is clear and logical as is the results report (I also like the functionality to request UC and/or legacy benefits and a detailed report showing the expert breakdown). Useful Tool

A fact not often realised is that those on low income have to manage the minutiae of expenditure with greater precision than the affluent. This tool is a useful way to help people balance their budgets and get information on available benefits. Reviewed on: 28th June 2023

I know before Im told

5
This is really helpful, im self employed so my universal credit changes hugely every month. Every month I use the calculator to work out what ill get for my next payment because the UC website takes a few days to update with what it will be but with this, i know straight away once ive submitted my figures i pop onto it to see. Helps me plan my finances a few extra days in advance, which makes a big difference with being prepared. Reviewed on: 24th June 2023

Good for breaking down awards

5
Its one of the only calculators that actually tells you how an award has been worked out so that's invaluable when attempting to decipher what has gone wrong with a client's payments. Reviewed on: 22nd June 2023

Benefits and Budgeting Calculator, an excellent bit of kit!

I have provided welfare rights advice for over 20 years. The Benefits and Budgeting Calculator is simply an essential and easy to use tool to identify entitlement and affordability. I love it! Reviewed on: 21st June 2023

The best and most user friendly better off calculation I have used.

An easy to use and understandable Benefit calculation. Reviewed on: 19th June 2023

Great tool for helping with finances and claiming unclaimed benefits.

5
The tool for budgeting is excellent and I've also been able to advise customers who have been missing out on claiming hundreds of pounds each month. Being able to identify those who are not yet claiming UC if they will benefit more from going over early has been most useful. Reviewed on: 19th June 2023

A very useful tool

I use this all the time to calculate affordability of rent in the private sector and, provided I am given the correct information, it is very accurate. I advise my clients to use it when they find a property in the private sector, so that they know exactly what, after they have paid rent and council tax, they will have left for food, travel, bills, etc. For me, the benefits calculator is invaluable.
