Abysmal Customer Service

Moved my money without informing me

I've had abysmal service from Newbury Building Society and if it weren't for the fact I've invested so much time trying to open an account I would just abandon using them for my savings. They moved money which I had deposited with them without informing me which is extremely worrying, what else might they do with my money without informing me? And were simply too arrogant to admit having made a mistake. Reviewed on: 7th October 2022

Helpful and straightforward.

We are in our late sixties, and even though the mortgage we required was only 20% of the value of our property, some lenders would not consider us. I still work, my husband is a landlord, we know we will have absolutely no problem servicing the mortgage, but struggled to find a lender! Newbury Building Society were a pleasure to work with and provided us with a mortgage at a very acceptable rate. Reviewed on: 3rd October 2022

Efficient and friendly service

Opened an additional savings account at the counter of the Basingstoke branch and my application was dealt with efficiently and in a very friendly manner by Gladys. She was friendly, very customer focussed and helpful and my new passbook was ready for me to take away when I'd finished. Excellent service. Would definitely recommend this branch.
