Very quick and efficient to deal with over the telephone and by post with competitive rates. It could be quicker to get a conformation of application for a fixed rate bond- it took 4 weeks . Reviewed on: 9th May 2022

Good Building Society - Pathetic interest rates

A good frienly society with typical building society performance. But current interest rates on savings are useless when we have an inflation rate approaching 1055 Reviewed on: 7th May 2022

Lots of niggles!

Joint account correspondence only addressed to one party (male!). Account opened to take pension payments, but was only advised that third party credits could not be accepted when the first payment sent to SBS was rejected by them and went missing for several weeks. Difficulty in accessing account to lodge money (see above) or make withdrawals. Annual Certificate of Interest Received not sent automatically as other savings providers do; this is particularly important for passbook accounts when there are no local branches to have the books brought up to date.
