30 years good service

I have banked with Smile / Cooperative Bank for over 30 years, without any real problems or issues. My only critiicism would be that wait times for helpline calls have got a bit longer during the last ten years, but I very rarely need that service Reviewed on: 20th March 2026

Making banking simple

Made a phone call to see if I could pay my Credit Card bill every month automatically of course you can they said, I should have done it years ago. I was on a roll so set up mobile banking, easy to do, I'm always checking my account it's so quick. Reviewed on: 13th February 2026

There when I need them.

A. 250 pound overdraft is free on my Smilemore account every month. AND I love the new feature to be able to choose a future date to pay a business or a person. Smile do not bother me with advertisements but are there when needed for example Insurance queries. Great. Reviewed on: 23rd January 2026

Not so easy to contact recently

They used to be very easy to contact but the last few times that I have tried to contact them I have either had to wait ages on the phone or else they tell me that they are closed. There is no ability to 'chat' with them and there is no possibility of them answering a question if it is at a weekend. Reviewed on: 9th March 2025
