I’ve just spent a month in Asia- Thailand and Vietnam ( yes it works with Thai Baht and Vietnamese Dong transactions even though they aren’t one of the currencies one can buy within the account) I’ve done the number crunching on the daily exchange for Mastercard and Visa compared to T212 after seeing the actual rate T212 gives when I did a transaction and compared the exchange for Visa and MC on one of my 0% fees cards I do have for both Visa and MC)! T212 wins hands down it gives interbank FX rates which are better than Visa or MC who both have around a 1% loading. Add the 0.5% cashback the effective exchange rate can not be beaten. It works fine everywhere UK and abroad plus overseas transactions (such as USD where that is the currency charge in particular website) I’ve used it contactless and when PIN is required and online no problem. One thing it can’t do is withdraw from an ATM (contactless withdrawal apparently yes but abroad I’ve found that restricted to a particular overseas bank card on their own ATM machines which I’ve found certainly in Thailand so can’t use it in an ATM it doesn’t have a magnetic strip enabling ATM withdrawals apparently) or do counter withdrawals in banks I use a Barclaycard Rewards VISA credit card for ATM and counter withdrawals but otherwise I use nothing other than T212 when abroad or doing online transactions not in sterling- absolutely brilliant little black card!
