Great platform

ISA stock confusion

Initially when I first joined there were issues regarding which stocks can and can’t be in an ISA. There was an issue with a stock where I had to sell to be then later allowed all along. I lost quite a lot of money during this time because I couldn’t sell the stock as I would have triggered a massive tax bill. When the stock was allowed back in an ISA the stock had dramatically gone down in value Reviewed on: 9th April 2025

We understand how frustrating and impactful this can be, mainly when it affects your investment decisions. HMRC rules determine ISA eligibility for stocks, and unfortunately, they can change over time. This means a previously ISA-eligible stock might later become ineligible and vice versa.
