Nice staff, but inflexible policies

We took out insurance for a year but after 7 months we realised that we had breached a term by coming back to the UK more than once in the insured period. Firstly, we hadn't been fully aware of this term (our fault), but in any event it really doesn't make sense, and is very restrictive if you are away for a year from loved ones and are unable to return except within strict boundaries. We spoke to a lovely customer helper, who said she would see if they could exercise discretion in either allowing the policy to continue, or if not, giving us a refund on the part that we had to give up in order to take out a new policy. Both were refused. We therefore ended up paying several hundred pounds more for the same cover as there is very little competition and we didn't want to risk being uninsured.
