999 Credit score and still refused with no good reason

1
I came here to see reviews as I need to revisit a loan application and wanted to see if anyone experienced the same as me last time (Oct 2022). I see my story is similar to others, with a 999 credit score and a very affordable loan request (£15k and 5 years) I still got refused, this knocked me as I've never been refused for anything in 25 odd years, I tried to get any reasonable explanation and was given none. Deceptive APR. AVOID!

1
I'm pretty financially literate, have great credit history and have used personal loans in past so am fully aware that only 50% of people need get the advertised APR. However, I was offered an obscene APR of more than triple the advertised rate. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and assumed i must've overlooked something. But a year later a good friend applied for a loan and was hit with exactly the same thing! I'm now convinced it's a tactic to draw customers in then, once they've hard credit searched you, they hit you with an extortionate rate because now they know if you dont take it you'll have an extra search on your credit report for no reason! Definitley will not be using again and would warn anyone else from using them. Reviewed on: 24th March 2023

Aa to the rescue

We are here for you - but not really

Appalling service, the AA approached me wanting me to take out a top up loan after 4 of my 5 years in, It was to be helpful at the time so applied for a small top up. Credit score was 999 at the time. After approaching me on several occasions, then with a good salary, and 999 credit score, I got rejected, and my credit score went down because of it. No more AA for me, I also switched to RAC out of principle for breakdown cover. Reviewed on: 21st February 2023

Loan application

I applied loan online as mentioned 5% then found application accepted with 15%. Amazing without my consent. Avoid AA this is a big scam. Reviewed on: 18th February 2023

Scummy deceptive company

1
AA are featured within the Experian list of loan companies. They have however put a very low 5% interest rate to deceive people and make sure they're the top of any search. When you actually go through the application process they will literally quadruple the interest rate. You have to fully apply for the loan to get the right rate and they will give any indication of what the rate might be. I also specifically put that I don't want any form of marketing contact by any means and within two minutes of applying, I had junk mail from other load providers. Absolutely disgusting practice and company. Avoid them at all costs. Reviewed on: 13th February 2023

Avoid AA Loan

Doesn't matter how good your rating is, How much you earn a month, How much interest rate you will accept. After wasting 1 month and after ruining your credit ratings the answer will be NO at the end. I have Excellent credit ratings, I earn £3200 a month. Applied for £14000 loan and accepted, asked for required documents and provided, then told me your loan is approved and all documents accepted and money will be in your account in 3 days. 2 weeks later received a letter that your loan application is rejected as Financial conduct authority is not satisfied. I applied in Post office loan and received money into my account in 5 days. Now the question is, Why you approved loan? Why you wasting my money on postage where you can easily receive docs via email? Why you said we received all required docs and now you will receive money in 3 days? PLEASE AVOID AA LOAN AND ALL OTHER SERVICES IF YOU WANT PEACE IN YOUR LIFE. Reviewed on: 30th January 2023

Very insensitive

My late son had a loan with AA. He passed away in May 2020. After his death the loan was written off (as required by law). Every year since then AA send an annual statement (in my sons name) with an outstanding balance. I have rung every year (3 times now) and each time they assure me they will drop the letters. The letters are a terrible reminder of what happened and I just wish they would stop. Reviewed on: 19th January 2023
