Slow to fix their mistakes

A mistake happened on my account. While the collector I spoke to was helpful and assuring, the mistake did not get resolved. So I was subject to a cat and mouse game. I am not sure if it was poor communication between the teams at acs or sluggish IT but the problem took ages to get solved. A dinosaur of a company stuck in the past. Reviewed on: 2nd August 2026

Manager was clueless

When they wanted my business they promised the earth but the second there was a problem with my account they disappeared and no one called me back. When I finally got through to a manager, he was clueless and tried to fob me off. It comes across like they do not know what they are doing and have poor communication. Reviewed on: 23rd July 2026

Awful Collection Systems!!!

I unfortunately got into a bit of debt with one of the big energy firms. I am keen to get this paid back. I had the bad luck of my debt being sent to ACS to be collected, Since they have taken over it has been awful. They cannot seem to answer basic questions about what has been paid and what is my balance. As a business owner myself I would not trust ACS to collect my company debts. Advanced Collection Systems they definately are not, more like Ancient Collection Systems! Reviewed on: 16th July 2026

Agressive bullies.

Agressive bullies. Just want to take the money. They don’t even have an app. Long drawn out process to pay off debts. Person that called me was miserable and angry. I can see that in a few years Ai will replace them. And AI wiill have more compassion. Would rather deal with a robot than these losers. Reviewed on: 26th June 2026

Sonia was extremely unprofessional!

Sonia was extremely unprofessional. I told her a date I can start paying from and she made strange judgemental comments alluding to the fact I should pay today (upfront) due to my payday being a few days ago. To clarify, I had not told her my pay day? Really strange interaction. I rung back within seconds and lo and behold, Alan was able to offer me a payment plan solution that was affordable for ME! Despite Sonia stating I wouldn’t be able to pay anything less than the stated £50. Glad I called back again because it reaffirmed she was purposely being mean-spirited and obtuse! She also told me there wasn’t a complaints procedure, funny because I managed to log in my complaint hmm Reviewed on: 29th April 2025

Horrible company

Horrible company. I am a single mum and had a debt of 350 pounds. Agreed with this company to pay monthly as I am on UC and did not have a job. Out of 7 months of payment, missed the payment for 10 days and the threatening emails and letters came. Forced me to pay 109 pounds within a month as the company promised to put me through the legal action. Just horrible service Reviewed on: 10th July 2022

Threatening bullies

Poorly worded letter, and they have no legal power. They are a debt collection agency, "We now give formal notice that unless payment is received within 72 hours of receipt of this letter, legal action may be taken in order to secure our clients position. Any such action would include legal costs and interest and may affect your ability to obtain credit in the future". They go on to say "you must contact us to pay in full" They have the same legal powers as my friends cat, only the cat is nice. Reviewed on: 20th December 2020
