Had a cover with this company for a year, which was quite difficult in a sense that one of our vans got stolen and then the new one got vandalised twice. We asked for help and advice from them which they were happy to offer. However, when trying to renew our policy, the quote was way too high compared to other insurers. After going with Acorn Van insurance instead, we went back to ask for the No Claims Bonus certificate. I used the online service where you speak to a representative who assured me that it was 5 years and that it will be sent to our email address. A week later nothing came through so I got in touch again. Apparently it was now zero years NCB as we made claims on the policy. I asked why no one bother to explain that we would lose all 5 years before proceeding with the claims, to which they responded that it's not something they are required to do. They then admitted that they should have kept us informed and that it was a mistake to say we had 5 years when we didn't, promising to settle the difference between the cost of 5 years NCB and 0 which we now have. Following a brief conversation with Acorn, they said it was £1051.84. Guess what happened? They refused to cover any of it now and won't talk to me any more regarding this. It's common sense to keep your customers in the loop and help them when they are in need. Leaving a review everywhere I can, reporting them using my team everywhere I can and seeking advice from Citizen Advice Bureau as well as our solicitors. Ripped us off big time!

Firstly i have to say just how difficult it is to communicate with this company. over the last 10 days ive been on hold for an advisor for over an hour and a half!
when i originally took out the policy which was in joint names previously with adifferent insurer, i was told that the no claims is transferable between spouses on a joint policy. so i duely paid my deposit etc. a couple of days later i got an email, (no-reply address) saying our no claims wasnt valid, tried calling, on hold etc, tried web chat , not working, this went on for several days, before my wife eventually got through during the day. was told she would need a new quote, as the underwriter wouldnt accept the no-claims, even though she was named, with 9+ years no claims! new quote several hundred pounds dearer. Unsurprisingly, she turned down the quote and asked for the policy to be cancelled and we would return to our old insurer. not a problem, they would email me as id set up the policy originally.
No email, we got the vehicle covered with the old insurer and almost 2 weeks past before autonet decided to WRITE telling us we owed nearly £100. this was after £90 being paid in deposit and first dd taken from bank less than 7 days later! ( like most people we pay monthly because we cant afford to pay in one go, but autonet decide its ok to charge you twice in your first month!!!!!)
now my saga of trying tom contact them to sort out the excessive charges started , on hold with no answer , web chat not working at evenings, then when i did once get an answer, wrong department , i needed someone who works, 9-5:30 difficult when i work 6am -6:30 pm . advisor wasnt even interested in taking my number or providing alternative contact method ie email .
finally today ive managed to get a working email address requesting a full breakdown of the final bill, which i have to say if they have put any extra charges on , ill see them in court! in short they are a terrible company , who edits reviews, proposes online availability but is in fact probably the most difficult company ive ever had the misfortune to use in 35 years of driving and riding. If you have and accident or need to claim or just contact outside of office hours, god help you. because they are not interested at all, customer service is merely a phrase they like to use, not adhere to!!!
i for one will never recommend or use again, even to th point of paying much more if i had too!

Tried to renew policy couple of days ago on line as there was a discount of £20. Tried twice on my PC and once on my iPhone only to have it rejected with a problem and to call them. Called them up and a so called Insurance clerk told me that he had manage to do it. I asked him to renew it then so I could pay them and get my discount and he said he cannot do that. He was not very helpful.
I decided to get my wife try on her iPad, but it still came up with errors. I gave up then and decided to change the broker and got a better deal. £80 better deal. I had been with this broker for quite a few years with two vehicles. Just shows there is no loyalty to existing customers. Summing up, good riddance

Next day I saw on my bank account they charge deposit 30£. Then I get email from them about my new insurance. Immediately call them with cancel my policy. Advaiser told my they will charge my for one day about 25£ plus cancellation fee 60£. What about 14 days cancellation right. Don't mention that was something wrong with they online service when i try set up new policy.

They lure you in with cheap quotes then when youve paid your deposit/policy they try to get a lot more money out of you be saying you have had accidents you haven't. The accident I apparently had was with a vehicle reg that doesn't even show up on gov.uk. Had policy for 5 days and told them in not paying an extra £800 so cancel the policy. For that I lost my deposit £70 and apparently now owe them £16. Will see you in court pal! Robbing toads! I'm taking this to the insurance ombusdmen.
BE WARNED THEY ARE NOTHING BUT A CON.

After an auto renewal, one month in we had to cancel the insurance because we got a new car and insuring the new car with autonet was much more expensive than other insurers. Autonet demanded that we pay £82.79 to cancel the contract. I don't care that it may be in the small print but this is unacceptable and I am a very unhappy customer.

I made a mistake, it was actually £128 they charged us, this is over 50% of the actual premium!! I phoned up and after demanding to speak to a manager because the agent was talking over me, they cut me off. I will be taking this further.

Twice in three years have been attracted to cheap online quote. The first time after a month they wrote to me saying I had made a mistake on the online form and I would have to pay more. Wasn't happy but paid up. Following year went elsewhere. This year again back with auto net. And quests what same again. They will charge more saying I had made another mistake on the online form. Phoned customer services. Was told that they had made a mistake but I would have to pay for it. Never again will I use this firm. Beware.

On phone today after I got a good comparison price for auto net. Was put on hold several times for long periods as they wanted to charge me extra for courtesy car and legal expenses even though it came up included in the price online. I was then asked to send a screen shot as proof as they didn't take my word. To then be told they couldn't guarantee a courtesy car if I had a breakdown as there isn't always one available. To then be told if I pay extra £40.00 I could be guaranteed a courtesy car up to 28 days ! I said I have never had this problem with other insurance companies. So was then informed a team leader would phone me ...that was 3.00pm and I am still waiting it is now 11.00pm and my insurance is due tomorrow! Well guess what.. I won't be using Autonet and pleased I stood my ground after reading all the other reviews about this company

ATTENTION, AVOID.This is company of scammers! Be warned, they ripped me off very bad and there is nothing I can do about it. Took out my policy with them 16 days ago, set up DD,no problem. Sold my car, so phone up to cancel. I accept the small print of a £79 cancellation fee, then a further £117 to cover a late payment on the DD. No way, then I see in the reviews this is their common scamming practice!!
You must avoid this company and spare yourself the frustration of being legally ripped off.
