By Miles charge a fixed cost that covers a car while it’s parked. The rest is based on the actual miles driven. Customers can either plug in the matchbox-sized Miles Tracker, or for newer cars, you can connect By Miles directly with your car’s mileometer.

Incredibly cost-effective

This has been incredibly cost-effective for me. I drive a few long trips a year, but mostly try and leave my car at home. I end up paying about half of what my friends do for car insurance, and it prompts me to think more about whether I need to drive, or if I could just walk or just jump on my bike. This car insurance company is ideal for me as I don’t need to drive as much as I used to. I have saved so much money and I always know where I stand as each month I am sent a summary of miles used.
