Better for a 2nd year.

5
This is my 2nd year with By Miles. This year the renewal was less than last year. And, the top-up cost is 30% less too. So, in the long run, I'll save even more money without losing the quality of cover. Reviewed on: 17th August 2025

By changing to By Miles was a great move for me as I drive very little and by the end of my insurance year I got a nice sum back all done automatically with great cover at a great price. So easy just plug the unit into your car and away you go, it also good as you can track where your car is parked if it gets stolen. Would definitely recommend to anyone who drives less miles than the average person. Reviewed on: 17th August 2025

Several years with 'By Miles'

5
After several years with 'By Miles', because I do such low annual mileage I find it more economical to stay with them, although, along with the general cost of living, the per mile cost has risen a lot since the beginning. Reviewed on: 17th August 2025

Email correspondence is brilliant

The By Miles tracker is a great device, however, the charge is reliant on the car battery and the car being used. I don't use the car that often (hence why ByMiles is ideal for me), however, this also means that the tracker runs out of battery which then triggers an email to HQ asking me to 'plug it back in in'. Of course, it's already plugged in, it's just the battery has run low. This means I tend to have a lot of contact with customer service who understand my problem and are always quick to troubleshoot. The service is brilliant, and I'm so happy it's resolved over email rather than phoning up or chatting to a chatbot/AI. Reviewed on: 17th August 2025

Mileage checking has not been without its problems

4
Having my mileage checked and reducing my miles has saved on insurance costs. However. since I now use my car as little as possible my battery has been letting me down (renewed 1.5 years ago). I have been charging my battery on a number of occasions to be able to start it. A car electrician found the parasitic draw from your unit was causing the problem. I have in the past used a solar panel to trickle feed the battery but can't do this now because the tracker is blocking the port. One step forwards and one back! Reviewed on: 17th August 2025
