Collingwood provide insurance for learner drivers, taxi drivers and couriers.

New driver cover is only available to existing Collingwood learner driver customers after passing the practical driving test. Taxi insurance can be for annual or short-term cover and courier insurance cover is for food and parcel delivery drivers.

Penalised for passing your test!

The insurance was easy to arrange and seemed fine while learning (although we made no claims). However, on passing they issued a £25 bill rather than a reduction in the premium based on the months not used (but paid for). Collingwood then very aggressive in pursuing that amount. There is no mention of this on their website at all, it is hidden away in the detail of the T&Cs that are not sent out at any point. Feels like awful customer service to us and a shocking money grabbing approach to young people. Cannot recommend at all. Reviewed on: 31st July 2022

Insurance money making scam

Please note all the five star reviews are fake, and come Collingwood employees, who get paid a small amount of money to upload fake reviews on here, like Collingwood employees get 50 percent commission on collection of payment of hidden fees from there customers, which 90 percent of these customers are vulnerable teen age drivers, who get completely ripped off by Collingwood avoid this company like the plague Reviewed on: 29th July 2022

Collingwood insurance is currently… will scam you out of money Collingwood insurance is currently scamming thousands upon thousands learner drivers out of hidden fees, if you pass you test thay will not issue you with any unused premium payed and will fine you with a £ 35 fee for passing your test, and will black mail you, with holding any no claims bonus certificate, and will pester you with threatening phone calls and text messages demanding money from you, this is a scam, I advise you to avoid this company like the plague, and report them to trading standards, let the press know, ie newspapers, TV stations, social media, let your mp know, write to Martin lewis for help, the public need to know this is a insurance scam targeting very young learner drivers, Reviewed on: 16th July 2022

When cancelling policy and expecting a small refund we were hit with extra charges which they claim (falsely) are clear at policy start. They hide behind "small print" and are unreasonable to deal with. See all the Google reviews from other customers who have had the same experience. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Beware the small print as noted by others they sneakily apply a £35 cancellation fee after you pass your test and force the policy to be cancelled despite paying in full for 12 months and only using 8 months, I paid full 12 month fee plus cancellation fee. This is not very transparent on their website. Reviewed on: 14th June 2022

Not a bad company UNTIL you pass. No refund then a £25 charge. Emails, Text & phone calls from them in a slightly menacing manner 1 day after cancellation of policy to collect said £25. Read small print or don’t cancel policy. Better still AVOID Reviewed on: 13th May 2022

Watch out for the fees added on when you pass

Price looks good when you take the policy, just a warning for the charges they will pile on at the end just because you pass, they also cancelled the policy against my request leaving the named driver uninsured and unable to drive the car home. Reviewed on: 23rd March 2022

Feel cheated for success

Took out an insurance policy for my daughter - paid in full - she passed 8 months later - her reward rather than a refund was to charge me an extra £35 admin fee to cancel the refund and no refund of the policy premium Absolute rubbish, I discussed this when buying the premium and was told I would not get a full refund of when she passed but a percentage- they are now saying as I’ve used 2 3rds of the policy rather than a 33% refund I will get a 10% and a £36 charge meaning I owe them £17 My advice Do not use this company !!!!!!!!!
