Good until something bad happens

They won’t release my money due to “fraud” until this point it was great. Love the app and features. Voting due to a company nudge. However theyd have been better asking me 3 weeks ago. Now I won’t go near them Reviewed on: 20th March 2023

In certain situations, it may be necessary for us to conduct additional due diligence to gain a comprehensive understanding of the business and its operations. This process aligns with our internal review criteria and the regulatory requirements imposed on all banks and financial institutions in the UK. It is not specific to Countingup alone. Reply from Countingup Hi Steve Hi Joe Safeguarding applies to all Countingup customers, with no defined limit per customer or account (besides our normal maximum account balance). This means that all the money within your Countingup account is protected. In contrast, banks are required by the regulators to participate in the Financial Service Compensation Scheme (FSCS). The FSCS acts like an insurance policy for bank accounts and pays out up to a maximum of £85,000 per eligible person, per bank, building society or credit union or up to £170,000 for joint accounts in the event of the bank or building society becoming insolvent. E-money issuers are not able to participate in the Financial Service Compensation Scheme (FSCS), and therefore your account is not protected by FSCS. This means that in the very unlikely event of PPS (or account provider) becoming insolvent, the return of your money might take longer than an FSCS claim because the distribution would be handled by an insolvency practitioner or administrator. It's worth noting that because the administrator can deduct their costs from this money, you might get slightly less than your full account balance back. Countingup takes the security of your business' funds seriously and with our safeguarding procedures in place, we would like to re-iterate that the money within your Countingup account is safe and protected. As a small business Countingup business account offers facilities that supports client involving and data collation for hmrc/companies house filings by our accountants. Banking fees are moderate, Highly recommended. Reviewed on: 20th March 2023

easy to access and value for money

I have had my business account for 4 years and the app has never failed me. it is easy to transfer money, pay people and track what I spend. easy to set up, access securely from any device. The fees per month were on discounted rate to begin with as my business was new, which was great however now they are at the full price it is still great value for money.
