Hours and hours on phone line

Hours and hours on the phone lane trying to sort out claim issues I shouldn't even been involved in. No one explained anything properly during the claim process. No response to an emails, very ,very poor communication. Reviewed on: 27th May 2025

Shocking service.

Shocking service. After 5 years of custom they charge more to cancel a policy than the amount outstanding & threaten legal action to forced payment. Avoid at all costs, it isn't worth it! Reviewed on: 19th May 2024

Legal money thieves.

Two good points are: 1). Reasonable value for money. 2). My claim was dealt with fairly quickly. Bad points are that there is no information to help those who have never taken out a policy and are pretty clueless. Ridiculous cancellation fees which isn’t always avoidable eg My vehicle needed expensive mechanical work on it which I couldn’t afford immediately so whilst saving for the repairs I was off the road for the last 4 months of my policy so I saw no reason to remain insured as the value of my bike was very little. Another negative point is trying to get in contact on the phone - It is futile and frustrating no matter which day of the week or what time of day! The worst point of all is the extortionate fees for a missed or late installment even if the direct debit was successful on the 2nd attempt a few days later. My renewal is due next month but I will be avoiding Money stealing Devitt at all Costs. Reviewed on: 17th February 2024

Competitive Prices

Devitt were in the top 3 for my motorbike quotes, but their policy was that little bit better than others. The application process was very straight forward Reviewed on: 30th July 2023

Cancelled policy

Do not use this insurance company if you are someone like me in their 50s that has a bike for a summer toy and does about 1000 miles a year. I have used Devitt for last 4/5 years insuring different bikes. I recently sold my bike and also recommended to new owner to use devitt. To now be threatened by email and post which will affect my credit score if i don't pay their cancellation fee of £33.71 which is over 2 months worth as the card they have on file for me has expired. What a joke of a company. This is how they treat customers who have been with them for years without any claims and you recommend. Seriously think twice about using Devitt if you are wanting motorcycle insurance unless you like being treated as a criminal and paying way over the odds if you cancel your policy before renewal. Thieving company!

The people are thieves! They took my deposit and two months and they canceled my insurance! Even paid a month I wasn't even insured! They are absolute thieves and will spread the word and report to FCA! Reviewed on: 2nd February 2023
