Avoid!!

Please dont waste your money on this company. I’ve had 3 appliances insurances since 2016. Had to make my 1st claim in May this year for my washing machine. Called and the advisor said someone would call the following day, this never happened. I called repeatedly to be told the same thing- someone would call back. In the end I spoke to Hotpoint who allowed me to cover the same appliances for a little more money each month, sent an engineer out the following morning who was with me for 30 minutes and left me with a working washing machine. Left my policy with Kaput running for a further 2 weeks and heard NOTHING! They soon started to call and write once I cancelled the direct debit requesting payment. Kaput is not to be trusted, many other reviews have been left online with similar issues to me. Reviewed on: 14th October 2019

Appalling service

I rang the co 11 days ago asking for a washing machine repair. The person dealing with my complaint was very unprofessional and impolite. Accused me of being 'cocky' when I asked him if he could hear the noise my washing machine was making. Told me that he had not listened to me on the call as he was 'multi-tasking'. I very much doubted that he would put my claim through. I have heard nothing from them since regarding the repair and have rung them 5 times. Each time they have promised to do something about the situation and still, I have not heard from them at all. I have never known such awful service with any insurance company. Unprofessional and dishonest!

I phoned Kaput over 36 hours ago to try to get my washing machine fixed. It has taken me till now to find out they will not do this. I phoned approximately every two hours. I was given a phone number that is unconnected with Kaput by John in Customer Services. I left my contact details approximately 8 times. In that time I received just one call back. The reason they have given for refusing my claim is because I occssionally rent rooms out through Air bnb or Booking.com and so my property is deemed a commercial property : "Any claim where you use the Equipment for a non-domestic purpose or in a commercial environment..." (page 5 (f)) So, washing sheets is not considered 'domestic' and my home is considered a 'commercial environment'. All very convenient for Kaput, who said I could not cancel my cover as I was tied in to it legally. I know when I was renting my whole house out in the past I used Kaput and received excellent support. My house rental was not considered 'commercial' but my room rental is??? This company has gone down hill. It is corrupt and very unprofessionally managed. Indeed, whichever option you press when you phone, the same person answers. So, if you rent rooms out or rent a property then you cannot claim on Kaput insurance. If you do and they accept it please let me know so I can sue them! abbismal and rubbish

After being with this company for over a year I attempted to make a claim for a washing machine they refused to send out an engineer claiming that the washing machine was faulty without even looking at it and then after raising complaints for two weeks they offered £15 as a cash settlement I complained again and they said they would agree £40 as the original £15 had a £25 admin fee. I told them to keep the £40 and have cancelled with immediate effect, I even sent their CEO Twitter directly to him and he couldn't even be bothered to respond so that just says a lot for the company if the CEO doesn't even bother to answer his customers THIS COMPANY IS CRAP, DO NOT USE Reviewed on: 12th March 2019
