Gruelling experience from my time with LOQBOX

I was a Loqbox customer for nearly three years and wanted to try their credit products and was attracted by their Loqbox save feature. I have written some very positive comments regarding this company , mainly Althing the prospect of being able to save and build credit at the same time . It wasn’t until end of last year that I started to have several problems with the rent reporting feature in the online portal and to make things worse , I am disabled as well and found their portal really clunky and if you accidentally click a button (due to dexterity issues) and despite the company stating that immediate cancellation results in a refund , the system does not allow cancellation and deducts the charges from the premium features like the Gold bolt on or the financial support services that come with it irrespective df cancelling it via their crowded portal . Then came the most difficult bit- every message in the app or email triggers a new reference, then dealt by an incompetent bot followed by every email contradicting the other . After spending so much time and wasted energy in back and forth, often repeated communications, I finally decided to cancel and completely close and settle my dealings with this organisation . This was only further hit with a lot of deliberate bureaucratic hurdles and really luring prompts on the portal stating leaving will damage my credit profile (despite following their terms of closure to the dot). The only solace my wife and I had was in the final week of closure , from a customer agent named Craig who I must say did tgeir best to help to finally settle and close down both our accounts for good . To be honest, I have not seen any positive results within my credit file despite being for nearly three years and spending nearly £1k plus . I know some people find it useful but sadly in my experience it has been the opposite. I still haven’t recovered from the deterioration in health this negative relentless experience has given me. . It is not completely closed on my credit files yet and hence I am holding on to every communication and screenshots in case I need to escalate regarding this issues to the ombudsman. If I would’ve known about this in advance, I would have rather just paid my bills on time and opted for my own credit builder card or some other competitors out there whose services come without any of these hassles I’ve described. Again a big thanks to Craig who stepped in at the last minute to listen and close down both mine and my wife’s accounts completely in the right way! Reviewed on: 10th March 2026

Zero result / false advertising

I signed up based on advertising and the promise to help shift my credit rating. However 6 months passed, i made the payments, but the result is zero. My credit rating did not move a single point. So obviously this is not working and the advertising is highly misleading. Reviewed on: 2nd February 2026

Loqboc is misleading and dishonest - AVOID

In my personal experience, Loqbox is the most misleading financial products I’ve ever used. I believed I was signing up for a simple tool to help improve my credit score. At no point was it made clear in plain language that I was entering a full credit agreement that would appear on multiple credit reports. After almost two years of perfect payments, my score with TransUnion fell, not improved. It turns out the Loqbox agreement itself was dragging it down. This is exactly the opposite of what their marketing suggests. When I tried to close the account, I suddenly received warnings that closing it would lower my score even further, warnings that should have been upfront, not hidden at the end. In my opinion, the product was mis-sold and the lack of transparency borders on unacceptable. Reading other reviews, it seems I’m far from the only one who feels this way. I would strongly advise others to think twice before trusting this company. I will be writing to the Financial Ombudsman Service Reviewed on: 22nd November 2025

AVOID the hidden fraudulent charges

Whilst appearing honest, and in abundance giving consumers hope to better their financial predicament, Loqbox has been found out to be a profit and money oriented immoral entity. The factual evidence is available on request , I have no need for credit but at one point I did and believed there loqbox ethos was true . But through commitment to grow, save , coach to get my mortgage which I did , following this i attempted to take my finances inder my control, at this point I was told that I had to clear a grow balance before I could cancel my membership , I had apparently spent in which was impossible as I had no access to funds to which the consumer being tricked in to believing they have access to where in actual fact the immoral financial model is taking advantage of genuine people trying to better there life efforts. Honest experience I will publish now in which has already been written and scrutinized by fca and ombudsman services bringing to account the immoral practices by this Dubai based enterprise. I will gladly write off the money falsely charged for the moment whilst funds are being recalled if it protects the consumer from further any further exploitation Reviewed on: 18th September 2025
