A Regular Savings Account is opened automatically when you join Manchester Credit Union. Savings must be made on a regular basis, either weekly, fortnightly or monthly and withdrawals can be made via the App or Members Area.

MCU is a fantastic service which is hugely beneficial.

I've had a share/savings account with Manchester Credit Unions since midyear 2011. It has been immensely valuable for me. I've had 2 loans from them in the past both fully paid off now. I continued to save and since then I've had the benefit of the Xmas Saver, which is a brilliant way to secure funds for Xmas and benefit from the interest accrued on top of the interest from the saver account. Both levels of interest with MCU beat the high street banks interest rates which is major factor in continuing to save. Also I can add to.my savings via the post office using the MCU card provided with the saver scheme, along with my regular Direct Debit payment into the saver account, the DD can be updated and amended via my banking details, so the date of the payment from my bank is when I chose re my financial status. The payment frequency, IE weekly, monthly etc can be individually chosen, again an outstanding feature of the share account. The app is so clear and easy to use providing excellent information about MCU. I recently joined their Busy Bee Lottery via the app picking the date when the DD goes out of my bank account. I could not possibly find any reason whatsoever to not to continue with my savings with MCU and I constantly inform people of the brilliance of being a member of MCU, especially individuals who I'm aware are struggling financially, because MCU helped me to turn a difficult financial corner with a more lucrative hopeful outcome. I am a very happy member of MCU and I definitely recommend being a member. Reviewed on: 11th June 2025

Easy to save with as it comes straight from my monthly wage so I don’t miss the money because it’s accounted for. It is so simple to access your money when you want to withdraw it, just a few clicks of a button. Reviewed on: 11th June 2025
