Mum struggling to buy uniform. MCU saved the day.

Manchester Credit union was recommended to me by a friend. I had no idea this existed and when I was struggling to buy new school uniform for my children, as a single mother, on benefits with a series mental health condition, Manchester credit saved me, it allowed me to buy better quality uniform for my children, it allowed me to make sure I had enough uniform plus a little spare incase of accident or rips. The school has so many different options of uniform for different lessons, so many different shoe needs, school shoes, PE shoes, inside and out, wellies, plus extras like water bottles lunchboxes, coats. Withour MCU i wouldn't have been able to get even half of what my boys needed. The loan application was straight forward, easy to understand and quick to complete. It didnt take long for Manchester credit union to get in touch with me to let me know id been successful and they then provide quick easy steps for the next part of the process. I can easily use their app to check my loan and repayments. I would use Manchester credit union again and highly recommend them to friends or family Reviewed on: 4th June 2026
