Rooster Money, the kids love love it.

Speaking mainly about Rooster Money, the kids love the experience of learning how to handle money. I do however have one child who is better than the other. My son is looking to open a student account with Nat West shortly and I can see my daughter going the same way. I pay a monthly fee but who doesn't!!! But the cashback offsets that. I use Rooster for my son, the app is easy to use for...

I use Rooster for my son, the app is easy to use for both parent and child. The alerts for spending are in real time, allowing me to track his spending. The small annual subscription fee really is a small price to pay for such a good product and for the peace of mind as a Mum knowing my child always has access to money if needed. I especially like the funds sit in the ‘parent account’ allowing me to drip feed money to his account meaning he doesn’t splurge unnecessarily. My son uses his account for in store purchases but has also set up his account on his online gaming such as PS5 and meta quest. Overall we are both really happy with Rooster and would fully recommend it. Reviewed on: 3rd March 2026

Perfect for tweens to teens

I can see exactly what the kids are spending and where they are shopping. And I love how easy it is to top up and move money between the parent account their own accounts. It gives my children a real experience of using a card responsibly. Reviewed on: 3rd March 2026
