Aviva 'renewal' price increased 40%

Aviva had quoted me a 'renewal' price 40% above their price of last years car insurance (2023 > 2024) . I searched through Go Compare & One Call Insurance quoted a policy pretty much the SAME price as I paid last year (With my added extras) with Aviva !! - If I can get this price for the policy - Why did Aviva effectively cut their own throats !
