Use the live chat - it is worth it before cancelling

I talked to **DJ2** (DobrusiaJ) on the live chat and surprisingly, renewed my policy. I had an invite to renew my policy at £200 more than the previous year so I ignored it. On the email it said talk to us first before changing providers, so I was furious when they automatically renewed and took my money at the inflated rate. I naively thought I had to renew and had not realised I had to log into the portal to cancel. I couldn't log onto the portal to cancel. The mail was No Reply and bounced back. Then I used the talkbot chat on the website. I'm glad I did. Dobrusia (DJ2) calmly explained what I had missed, asked if I would like to check and update my policy, and we went through a few things so we could come up with a price that matched my alternative choice. Dobrusia answered my questions, sharing policy wording and various permutations. She made me feel better and I kept with the insurance policy - despite my being adamant I would change before the call. I now don't have to cancel, chase a refund or take up my alternative policy. I'm relieved and I think she deserves a medal or a cup of tea now. Reviewed on: 14th August 2024
