Better off calculator is a great tool! It helped with showing a benefit amount you could or are currently receiving but also showed better off in work. I found it very useful as you can try different scenarios by inputting hours and rate of pay. Highly recommend. Reviewed on: 23rd May 2024

The most modern, welcoming benefits calculator

The Better Off calculator is without a doubt the most modern, user-friendly tool I have used for this purpose. The graphics are extremely clear so that anyone can understand them, and it is very easy to see how changes in for instance employment or rental costs would affect my overall finances. On top of that, the attention to detail and customer service of the team is incredible: quick to reply, easy to interact with, and determined to make improvements whenever a suggestion is made. Useful tool for professionals and clients

I work in a field where we often need to estimate entitlements that people should have or possible changes to current entitlements if their circumstances change. Policy and Practice's benefit calculator is very useful for this and straightforward to use. We also recommend it to clients to try out themselves. I would add that the team is also very open to constructive feedback on the rare occasions we've had any to offer, and that they update quickly when new information is published, such as annual upratings Reviewed on: 23rd May 2024

I feel that the application is moving forwards with new features being added all the time - in my work as an adviser for Citizens Advice - the feature I use most frequently is Scenarios - where I can copy a previous benefit check for a client and modify it with the change that is about to happen to them Reviewed on: 23rd May 2024

Help to Claim and it's many Benefit Checks

I'm a Help to Claim Advisor and have been using the Better Off Calculator for the last three years now. I've found that when completing it it has a nice flow when asking the Clients the questions in the order on the calculator. The additional information of supplementary support and breakdowns of benefit entitlement has been found to be reassuring to a majority of my Clients. There has been a couple times where I have also had to get in touch with Policy in Practice using their webchat when there were issues with the calculation results and they have always answered and solved the problem promptly where possible.
