The best source for understanding benefit entitlement

We used the Policy In Practice calculator as part of a piece of analysis for DFN Project Search, a charity that helps place young adults with disabilities into work placements. We were evaluating the value that DFN generate as a result of their programmes, and to do so we used the Better Off Calculator to understand what benefits these individuals would be entitled to a) absent employment, and b) when they were in full time work. The team and calculator were fantastic and made a huge difference to our work, as we could not find a better source out there for this information! Reviewed on: 23rd May 2024

The easy to follow process of the pages is constantly offering additional information throughout and make the tool easy to navigate for professionals and individuals alike. Policy in Practice

I use policy in practice daily within my role to help people understand what benefits they are entitled to and potentially not claiming, to help people understand the additional support they could be entitled to, to understand how their financial circumstances may change moving into employment. I have found policy in practice to be beneficial for my participants as it helps to answer some of their questions as well as settle nerves about finances and going back to work. It allows for my participants to start creating budgets giving them the best chance at great financial health. Reviewed on: 23rd May 2024
