1. Chase: 4.94 out of 5

Chase is popular with our Smart Money People community. It currently holds the top spot in our current account rankings and was recently crowned the Best current account provider in the 2025 British bank awards.

One reviewer said:

“Firstly, the app is great and easy to use. In addition, Chase offers 1% cash back on all purchases made on the debit card (inc. apple pay) which is great. In addition to this there is the option to use round-up to round up every purchase to the nearest whole pound and take the round-up amount to a savings account.”

2. Starling: 4.94 out of 5

Starling gives you exactly what you’d expect from a current account but with some useful extras. Spaces help you organise your money into virtual change jars to make saving easier and Spending Insights help you spot trends across 50+ different categories. Our colleagues at Be Clever With Your Cash have written a detailed review about the Starling account.

With more than 27,000 reviews and an average score of 4.94, Starling is a well-liked current account.

One reviewer said:

“I love Starling Bank, I have had several accounts with other banks previously and there have always been issues. So, Starling feels fresh and modern as a bank. It was really easy to set up, I like the video security feature. Having 'spaces' to divide your money into separate areas within the app is great for organising your funds. I make use of the no currency conversion fee to get great deals and save money buying from other countries.”
