Opened a help to buy ISA with Santander.

Opened a help to buy ISA with Santander. It is a good savings account to have as it will help me with buying my first home, however the interest rate is very low and you do not get to see your 25% bonus until you are using the money. This makes it less motivating to save as it doesn’t feel like you get many benefits from having this account compared to other savings accounts (Moneybox Lifetime ISA) Reviewed on: 5th February 2024

Decent app

This account was ok but I ended up switching to a lifetime isa due to the higher government bonus per year. Santander's app works well however, so I would still recommend a help to buy ISA with the bank. Reviewed on: 8th February 2023

Good but Lifetime ISA is better

The Help to Buy ISA is a really good idea, lets you save with an added 4k government bonus when saving for a house deposits. Maximum 250k. However, I closed my Help to Buy and transferred to a Lifetime ISA as the benefits are much better - government bonus of max 1k a year (no upper limit on years), and maximum house prize of 450k.
