An excellent service which helps build prosperity for all

I am delighted to have a savings account with Sheffield Credit Union. In saving with them not only do I get competitive rates of interest but I am also investing in the capital of my city. The money saved is able to be loaned on honest rates to ordinary people. This helps people to avoid loan sharks and other disreputable lenders. Reviewed on: 28th June 2023

I never thought I would need a credit union

I never thought that I would need a credit union. I became a member years ago as a political gesture with a small monthly direct deduction from my salary. When I separated from my wife she threw me out, changed the locks, took the car away & took £6000 out of the joint account, the only bank account I had. I could not even honour my insurance payments. After I froze the account I had nowhere to go. Sheffield Credit Union were really sympathetic. I was able to access my savings to get me through till the end of the month & was able to bank an old cheque I found in my unopened mail. Without Sheffield Credit Union I would have been left unexpectedly with no money or financial services. I now have a new bank account & things are looking up., but Sheffield Credit Union was there when I needed them. Reviewed on: 28th June 2023
