Cracking prices and exceptional customer service

Howden Insurance Services are excellent all round. They're large enough to be able to provide consistently competitive insurance premiums, almost always lower cost than the leading price comparison sites, and yet still able to provide genuinely personal customer care. You can arrange your insurance by phone or in person at one of their well staffed local offices and you can keep all your insurance documents safe and sound in your own online document vault. Friendly and helpful, diligent in seeking out best value insurance products but most importantly ON THE HIGH STREET! No endless hanging on the telephone being told that my call is important to them. Run by actual humans!

I like Howden as you get to speak to a real person, and are not held in automated queues. They will find the best policy according to what you need, rather than fitting you into a category, and always find the best price. Reviewed on: 9th September 2025

Second to none

Howdens have found me the best car insurance quote for two consecutive years. Their customer service is second to none and they remind me a month before my car insurance is due each year. Their customer emails are very informative and you don’t feel bombarded. Reviewed on: 5th September 2025

Great renewal experience with Howden

Just moved house - £63 in admin charges

Just moved house. I was charged £63 in admin charges for my campervan insurance. If you think you are going to make any changes mid policy, you really need to check their terms and conditions on admin charges, they are eye watering. This will include adding drivers, removing drivers, moving house. Be aware. Reviewed on: 21st September 2024
