Good range of accounts, excellent rates, poor website

I've got a Vernon regular saver account. I opened the account because of the excellent interest rate on offer. It's also good to support a small, local society. The only downside to my experience is the website - it's clunky and badly needs bringing up to date. Reviewed on: 13th January 2026

Just what we need

In this age when financial organisations are concentrating on profits and centralising it is refreshing to deal with a truly local building society which still offers good value to savers and young people taking their first step on the housing ladder. Reviewed on: 13th January 2026

Easy to set up a savings account.

Easy to set up a savings account. Could be a little more up to date with account management options (Faster payments etc). Interest rates have fallen behind for savers recently not keeping up with inflation. Generally a useful and helpful Building Society but needs better IT to move forward.
