Bedford Credit Union (BCU) is a not-for-profit financial co-operative owned by members who live or work in Bedfordshire.

Offering savings and loans, Bedford Credit Union is regulated by the FCA and the PRA. Savers’ deposits are fully protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.

BCU was established in 1998 and has grown with adult memberships exceeding 2000 and over 1100 junior members.

The staff were friendly, professional, and supportive throughout the entire process. What made the experience even more meaningful was the support I received during a very important time in my life. When I had my baby, the additional financial help gave me peace of mind and allowed me to focus on my family without unnecessary stress. Knowing that help was available when I truly needed it made a real difference. The approval process was efficient, communication was clear, and the loan terms were fair. Bedford Credit Union genuinely cares about its members and provides practical support when it matters most.     Helped me to save

    I have always struggled to save, Bedford credit union has helped me loads. Not being able to transfer money in the evenings or at weekends is a big help

    I got a loan with very low interest rate.

    I got a loan with very low interest rate. I got a new job and I needed to get a car for work. My bank... I got a loan with very low interest rate. I got a new job and I needed to get a car for work. My bank would not lend me the amount I was looking for. I went to Bedford Credit Union and it all easy and the interest rate was far much better compared to the bank. Very flexible in terms of paying back. It was a stress off my shoulders.
