Plata was the first provider to apply for a personal loan, all the major banks refused my applications over the consideration that I had a short history in the UK even though it was a relatively small loan that could be repaid by pretty much anyone even on minimum wage. I was also very happy when I got an email close to the winter holidays reminding me I could repay my loan early to reduce the amount I had to pay overall, which didn't even occur to me at the time.
