Every South Manchester Credit Union member gets an Open Savings account. Deposits can be made anytime and withdrawals up to once a month. There’s also a Locked account where savings are pledged towards a loan.

They are so supportive and are willing to help when you are struggling. They offer ways on how you can save, and being specific if you need to save for something specific. They are efficient and quick, and they will make sure they get in contact with you. Reviewed on: 16th May 2025

Getting back on track after long term illness.

I had an account that I hadn't used for a while and the process of getting back on track was made easy by the very patient and helpful staff. I also got an annual bus pass through an interest free loan provided by the credit union. I'm saving into my general account and putting some money to one side into a Christmas savings. SMCU Provides An Easy and Safe Way to Save.

I found it very easy to open an account with South Manchester Credit Union. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the app is very user friendly too. I’m happy that I’m saving regularly for my two grandchildren, and at the same time the Credit Union can safely use that money to help people out who need loans. Reviewed on: 9th May 2025
