Unethical, evil behaviour
My dad had a mortgage with them before he passed away. The property has the same unsafe cladding as Grenfell, resulting in being unable to... My dad had a mortgage with them before he passed away. The property has the same unsafe cladding as Grenfell, resulting in being unable to sell the property until the work is carried out, which is due to start this year. BM failed to inform us of multiple rate increases which meant the payments we made did not cover the new monthly payment. We were unaware of this for over 5 months. Then instead of apologising for their error and working with us, they tried to repossess the property and add thousands in fees to the account. Their complaints handler just repeadly ignored my request for information on the ombudsman, the legal action, the process of how they deal with a deceased estate with unsafe cladding and how to resolve this situation. Despite there being no money in my father's estate to clear the arrears until the property is sold (again this request ignored) I was told to set up a payment plan out of my own pocket. After fighting and having to explain it is not my bill, I finally give in from the stress and rang to set up a payment plan to be told you can not set up a payment plan on a deceased estate. When asked how do I stop the legal action then, I was told I dont know! The complaint handler was then asked to get in touch with me to tell me how to stop this action. She decided not to bother and wrote and update on the complaint saying no new points raised, no further action needed. The mortgage term is ending soon, I have also asked what happens when it come to an end. Susan, the same complaint handler responded with I dont know, we will cross the bridge when it comes to it. PATHETIC AND INCOMPETANT
What a pathetic antiquated bank this is. With any modern bank I can open a Savings Account online in minutes or even seconds but not... What a pathetic antiquated bank this is. With any modern bank I can open a Savings Account online in minutes or even seconds but not with Birmingham Midshires. I applied online to open a Savings Account with B M on 8th November 2017, but was told that within the next few days I would receive a letter with instructions on how to complete the application . A letter duly arrived asking for a cheque from my linked account and Proof of Identification in the form of an original bank statement not more than 3 months old. Like a lot of people I operate paperless banking, so I had to go to my bank and ask for a certified copy of a recent statement. This was all done and sent back by return...........SEVEN WEEKS later I finally received a letter dated 28th December “Welcoming me to my New Savings Account”. When I did try and telephone I was put through to an adviser who sounded like a robot with no communication skills whatsoever. BM are truly fresh out of the ark. Having finally connected to my account online, I was presented with pages that gave the appearance of being designed by a child. But on reflection perhaps a modern child would have done a better job!! I gave one star as there isn't a lower option. Perhaps the Directors of BM should finally start taking notice of all the negative feedback that they are receiving. As part of the Lloyds Banking Group they should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves. Read more Read less
