By Miles charge a fixed cost that covers a car while it’s parked. The rest is based on the actual miles driven. Customers can either plug in the matchbox-sized Miles Tracker, or for newer cars, you can connect By Miles directly with your car’s mileometer.

It feels great to know that I am no longer being ripped off. I’m done with spending huge money for car insurance for fixed annual periods where a large chunk of the time there is low risk, the car is lying idle in the garage. Now I am happy paying for Insurance commensurate with the level of risk over time - the potential risk arising dude! ....when I am using the car. My experience with By Miles has been amazing, I used to commute using my card but since changing jobs my car is sat on the drive. Now I am not using my car much it made much more sense to pay by the mile rather than paying a premium price, other companies wanted to charge me over £600 for my yearly insurance and with By Miles it's turned out at around £350 a year. The app is so easy to use and every time you have been out for a drive it sends you a notification with how much you have spent :) Reviewed on: 10th September 2019
