By Miles provide car insurance aimed at low mileage drivers.

By Miles charge a fixed cost that covers a car while it’s parked. The rest is based on the actual miles driven. Customers can either plug in the matchbox-sized Miles Tracker, or for newer cars, you can connect By Miles directly with your car’s mileometer.

Customer service is second to none, they spent a while helping me find the OBD port in my car. It's a totally new concept where you pay for the exact number of miles you drive. Nice innovative car insurance product

I've been using the By Miles car insurance service for a while, and it's very intuitive, easy to setup and the customer service is excellent. You pay a fixed annual cost which covers your car when parked, and a per mile rate when you are driving. This is quite suitable for low mileage users. The insurance policy which is underwritten by AXA, is fully comprehensive (incl. business cover) and also includes protected NCD at no extra cost. Their app is brilliant and the whole policy can be managed through that. Also, unlike other insurance providers, they don't charge any admin fees for the first three policy changes. Currently paying £170 with another insurer - and doing 8000 miles a year, Miles quoted me £400 for the same mileage. Miles - please review your £150 initial charge and 1p a mile would be more comparable. Reviewed on: 12th July 2018

Amazing concept! I am thinking about this type of insurance for years

Previously working in car financing and insurance for the biggest French car manufacturer I was looking for launching this innovative type of insurance in central Europe but couldn't find insurers supporting the idea or investment. a very good idea

As this company is not up and running yet this is a brilliant idea and I can't wait for this to kick off as I only do about 2000/2500 miles a year in my car I think I should only pay for the miles I do in my private car most insurance company's I've looked at will only let me put down 5000 miles per year but I'm not anywhere near that I for one hope that this idea does go live soon as my insurance is soon duey Reviewed on: 3rd October 2017

Great idea!

As a mother with two young drivers in the family, I would have gladly welcomed this innovation when my children where learning to drive. If your kids are heading off to uni this idea now gives the option of taking their car with them. The older generation will benefit too. Ideal for my 92 year father, who is still perfectly capable of driving, but only does very few miles these days. Reviewed on: 2nd October 2017
