By Miles charge a fixed cost that covers a car while it’s parked. The rest is based on the actual miles driven. Customers can either plug in the matchbox-sized Miles Tracker, or for newer cars, you can connect By Miles directly with your car’s mileometer.

I have never had this little amount of hassle from my car insurance. Customer service is 10/10. The app is perfect. The auto renewal is spot on. You get 3 free changes to the admin side of my policy which is a huge help ! Also love that I can the journeys etc. it’s saved me money when I was unable to drive when pregnant as well as I wasn’t doing any miles and only being charged basic rate. Very very useful. I already have recommended to all my family and friends coming up for their renewals to have a look. Reviewed on: 18th August 2025

Easy to plug in the gadget inside car. Very straight forward afterwards. I get regular updates on mileage use versus insurance used. I can top up with money if I feel I need to. Reviewed on: 18th August 2025
