By Miles charge a fixed cost that covers a car while it’s parked. The rest is based on the actual miles driven. Customers can either plug in the matchbox-sized Miles Tracker, or for newer cars, you can connect By Miles directly with your car’s mileometer.

A great way to pay purely for the miles that you actually drive. A few other insurance companies should look to do the same thing as a lot of them do seem to vastly overcharge. Reviewed on: 18th August 2025

I am a low-mileage driver, so paying by mile really helps me to budget. I can check the amount on the app, so I know how many miles I have driven and how much I will be paying each month. Not only that, but after each journey I get a notification on my phone with a summary of the distance and cost. At the time of my renewal I still shop around, but have remained with By Miles for 4 years now. Reviewed on: 18th August 2025

Just Pay For The Miles You Drive.

Paying by the mile is fairer for low mileage drivers, the app is simple to use and keeps track of each journey so I can see at a glance if I need to top up. Topping up is simple and straight forward. The chat feature is great to use and I find the staff friendly and put things across in easy to understand terms. Would definately reccommend BYMILES , as car insurance, it has saved me so much money compared to other regular car insurance copanies. I won't be looking anywhere else to insure my car. They contacted to check I was having no problems.

When they saw no mileage they contacted me to check my machine was working. They told me how to check and what to do. It turned out that there was nothing wrong but that I had been for an operation and was unable to drive for several weeks. When I explained this they made a note on my account that I was now doing very low mileage. Reviewed on: 18th August 2025
