By Miles charge a fixed cost that covers a car while it’s parked. The rest is based on the actual miles driven. Customers can either plug in the matchbox-sized Miles Tracker, or for newer cars, you can connect By Miles directly with your car’s mileometer.

Great experience thus far!

I have only joined ByMiles since June, so haven’t been with them long but it was a seamless transition and installing the miles detector didn’t take long at all very easy to see how many miles you have done in the month and also very interesting from a data point of view (as sad as that sounds!) The easiest experience ever!

This car insurance is the best thing ever, especially as I’m working from home and my car is parked in the driveway majority of the time. This is a great refreshing way to provide car insurance which is so user friendly and easy to understand. Car insurance has always been a minefield for me and I never really understood it properly, but ByMiles has made it exceptionally easy and I don’t think I’ll ever switch to another company now. Everything was straightforward online. When I wanted more information or reassurance that the tracker would not run the battery down I was contacted by phone to explain. I am in the older age bracket forever adapting to new ways of doing things. The BY Miles is not complicated and might save me some ££££`s. I get txts to say how much the mileage has cost which is helpful. So yes would recommend this insurance company. Reviewed on: 18th August 2022

It's surprisingly excellent

The app works very well. It's easy to top up your miles if you need to. I have no fears putting down more miles than I'm going to use knowing that I can get money back. On top of that, having an app that tracks your journeys are very useful. When my car went to the garage, I could monitor where it was, and when and where they went to test it. I also think i'm driving less just because I'm aware of my miles limit, which is only a positive. Couldn't recommend enough. And it saved me money compared to the very best deal the last company I was with. Reviewed on: 18th August 2022

This is the way forward in car insurance. Pay per mile is great value particularly for low mileage car owners. Also, pay per mile makes you think about if you really need to make that journey by car, rather than cycle, walk, or use public transport, so better for the environment and doing your bit for climate change too. Does what it says on the box

I wish I had known about this company years ago. My annual mileage has really dropped off, mostly short journeys, three or four times a week. Paying a reasonable flat rate to insure the car, and another per mile has saved me hundreds of pounds compared to cheapest alternative. Using an easily self fitted tracker the By Miles phone app updates you after each journey, giving route and mileage driven, and how much each journey has cost in insurance terms. It also tells you if your battery has been affected by short journeys. The customer service team are accessible by email and chat. Although I have had little need to contact them apart from setting up, the response has always been quick, courteous and helpful. I confess to preferring to deal by phone but it has never been an issue with this company. They are miles ahead of the crowd. Check them out. Everything is clearly explained so you are clear of what the cost will be based on your estimated mileage before you buy. You also get free miles if you introduce a friend. Even if you try it. for just one year, you'll lose nothing as NCD remains unbroken and I guarantee that you won't be disappointed. It does what it says on the box Reviewed on: 18th August 2022
