By Miles charge a fixed cost that covers a car while it’s parked. The rest is based on the actual miles driven. Customers can either plug in the matchbox-sized Miles Tracker, or for newer cars, you can connect By Miles directly with your car’s mileometer.

I came across by miles by chance and they are fantastic. I do very few miles a year and was being quoted extortionate prices by other insurance companies. By miles has saved me lots of money which is a big thing these days. They keep me well informed re my payments and renewal. I doubt I will ever change companies again! Reviewed on: 16th August 2025

A great economic and convenient way to save money.

I've been with By MIles for several years now and will continue for many years to come. As low mileage driver, I have saved a great deal of money. It is easy to check mileage if you need to, the tracker does all the work and the amount is taken directly each month. I can forget about my insurance and do the things I enjoy. The only fly in the ointment is the occasional incidence when the tracker appears not to work, mainly when I have been away for a few weeks and haven't driven my car. I then have to go through a series of hoops to get it working again. Reviewed on: 16th August 2025

I have had a really good experience with By Miles. The quotes are significantly lower than other insurers as i do a low mileage every year. When I have had to contact customer service when the car has had to go into a garage for servicing, the experience has been effortless and very friendly. I have saved a massive amount of money over the years by using By Miles. The per mile cost increases dramatically year on year but the premiums still save me money which I estimate at 60 to 70%. However the more miles you use so the amount saved reduces. The chat system on the app is excellent, you are never kept waiting and your queries are dealt with efficiently and promptly.
