By Miles charge a fixed cost that covers a car while it’s parked. The rest is based on the actual miles driven. Customers can either plug in the matchbox-sized Miles Tracker, or for newer cars, you can connect By Miles directly with your car’s mileometer.

The Best, By Miles

Insurance costs over the last three years has been, £666, £541, and last year (my first with By Miles) £215. Same car, same cover. The app shows time as well as distance travelled on each journey. Perfect for low mileage

I recommend By Miles to everyone. We have 2 cars, 1 of them only gets used for short journeys and only a couple of times a week. 2 years ago we paid £450 on car insurance & only did 670 miles for that year. We then discovered By Miles & are ready to renew for our second year. Based on our mileage, 2 years with By Miles will cost us the same as 1 year with other providers. The most we’ve paid for 1 month over the last year has been £7.69! The app is great, shows our miles so far and previous statements, & we also love that the miles tracker has GPS built in. We’ve only contacted customer services once but was excellent service. No complaints whatsoever with By Miles. It’s absolutely perfect for us & our needs. I think it’s a must for this industry as paying over the odds on insurance for a car that isn’t used a lot is very frustrating, so I’m really glad to have the option to pay based on miles. Great car insurance for those who aren't driving too much. Planet friendly because We only driving when you needed not When we want. So less driving. My complaint will be about the renewal. Simple and straightforward insurance based on your mileage

I have had By Miles car insurance for two years now. My mileage isn't very high and so it works perfectly for me. It's easy to slot the mileage counter into the car (it took seconds), I get regular emails detailing my little monthly charges and its easy to contact someone if there is a problem.
