By Miles charge a fixed cost that covers a car while it’s parked. The rest is based on the actual miles driven. Customers can either plug in the matchbox-sized Miles Tracker, or for newer cars, you can connect By Miles directly with your car’s mileometer.

A game changer product

I have been using ByMiles now for almost a year, and I love it. The main reason is simply you only need to pay for the miles you drive. Some months I hardly drive and I pay hardly anything. If I travel long distance I only pay for what I drive. (with a cap at 150) also the app is ace. Most useful feature (apart from keeping track of your spending) is the find my car feature. Also the diagnostic tool is good. So far no issue with my car so cannot comment how accurate it is. Customer service is also good. Emails are responded to quickly and telephone staff are knowledgeable and very helpful. Will definitely be renewing.. Other insurance providers need to modernise and jump on bad.. By Miles is the type of car insurance that was long needed on the market! For people like me, who drive sporadically and like to have their spendings under controll, it's perfect. You start with a small standing fee and then get charged monthly for miles you have driven - how easy and brilliant it is! The rates are low and everything is clear from the get go. Been a ByMiles customer for a few years, and I don't see myself leaving at any time soon. Paying for only the miles I actually drive, prompt service and the one time I did have to make a claim it was dealt with quickly and professionally. Great insurance option for anyone who doesn't drive a lot of miles. The app they have is great as well, and tells you how much each individual journey cost. Switching to them was relatively straightforward and the tracker doesn't deplete my car battery! Reviewed on: 11th August 2022
