I would like to start by saying that I have always found Darlington Building Society to be professional, helpful, and supportive. Whenever I speak to your team by phone, my queries are handled efficiently and courteously, which I truly appreciate. I would, however, like to share some constructive feedback regarding your digital service. On several occasions, I have submitted queries online but unfortunately did not receive a response. As a result, I have had to follow up and resolve the matter by phone each time. While your telephone support is excellent, it would be very helpful if online enquiries were responded to more consistently, as this would save time and improve the overall customer experience. In addition, I would like to state that digital statements should be free of charge as it is important for customer convenience and fairness. My self build mortgage is arranged through BuildStor...

My self‑build mortgage is arranged through BuildStore, but I often find myself contacting Darlington Building Society directly, as it is much easier to speak with them one‑to‑one. The service and communication I receive from Darlington are consistently clearer, quicker, and more helpful. It’s a shame I can’t deal with them directly for the whole process, as it would remove the need for an intermediary and make the experience far more efficient. Reviewed on: 27th February 2026
