With a Glasgow Credit Union savings account, members can save regularly between £10 and £1000 each month across accounts. Withdrawals are via BACS transfer and can be requested in app, online or by phone.

Work visit

I joined after GCU came to my work, the information that day encouraged me to sign up and start saving. The other advice regarding making saving by using comparison sites etc was also beneficial. Reviewed on: 24th May 2026

Genuine and friendly.

The desk staff are always friendly and helpful when calling into the office with enquiries or requests. They are always understanding and offer assistance when needed. They all come across and genuinely careing and keen to help. Reviewed on: 23rd May 2026

Best for savings, loans, and mortgages.

Very user friendly access to services, secure, and responsive. I have been a member for 25 years or more. Set up an account after a representative visited my workplace and I still use it now 10 years in retirement. Savings are my current involvement but in past times I had mortgage, loans and speedy withdrawals when required. Reviewed on: 23rd May 2026

Wonderful staff but tech could be better

Customer service over the phone has always been fantastic but neither website nor app has ever worked for me to access my account despite multiple resets, with staff saying these are wider faults they are aware of. Reviewed on: 23rd May 2026

The new app makes keeping track of your savings so easy and the facility of being able to deposit larger amounts at the click of a button so convenient. Staff at the GCU were so helpful in helping me to set it up and change my deposits from salary to direct debit as I was retiring. Reviewed on: 23rd May 2026

Long Time Saver

Glasgow Credit Union is first class ...

Glasgow credit union is the easiest company to deal with. Everything is straight forward on the app and if you do have to call you get to speak to a Glaswegian so the us no communication problems so much better than banks and I’ll continue with them and always recommend them.
