Great for kids and parents

Hyper Jar is easy to use for both myself and my kids. It's a good way to keep track of the kids' spending and saving. Reviewed on: 27th May 2024

LGBTQUI friendly business

I’ve always had good service with HyperJar, the lost cards and children putting in wrong PIN codes and passwords and emails!! However changing my child’s name can come with backlash from some companies, wanting reasons that quite frankly are not necessary, with HyperJar ‘Basil’ couldn’t have made it easier!! They changed the name without asking personal questions and were so friendly and efficient I was really impressed!! I wouldn’t be without HyperJar now x Reviewed on: 24th March 2023

Great for the kids

Being able to get an account for 3 children was in itself a challenge with some online services however HyperJar solved this issue. The ease of the app, the physical card and the option to create savings jars has been fantastic and the children feel much more in control of managing their own savings and “birthday monies”. Being able to monitor their spending, support their savings and use the main account to “get them out of an emergency” are all features as to why we still use HyperJar. Reviewed on: 23rd March 2023

Life is better with hyperjar

I have 4 kids, 2 teens and pre-teen, and before Hyperjar helping them have a bit of spending money was a complete chore. With Hyperjar I can easily see what they are spending but even better I can easily add money on the spot from my account and I can control exactly where they can spend. I don’t do this for everything but for their train budget, being able to restrict that Jar to rail stations has been nothing short of life changing for me. Reviewed on: 17th March 2023

Great Children's account.

My children love the account. With a clear and easy to navigate app. They like being able to have different jars for different goals. They also like having some independence and being able to shop contactlessly. I love the security of only the spending jar being accessible if the car is lost, and being able to see what they are spending and where. Reviewed on: 17th March 2023

Easy use

Online bank with impeccable service

Been a customer for a while. Got an adult account so I could get accounts for my children…. Customer service was excellent when setting up. Months later, was the same when resolving a lost card issue. Would highly recommend HyperJar Reviewed on: 16th March 2023

Really helpful way to teach kids about saving

We've opened an account for our oldest daughter (7) as she wanted to stay long around the house in exchange for an allowance. This is such app is a brilliant way of them visualising how much much she has in our jar. And a way of teaching her how to save but separating some of her money. It's a great introduction to online banking. And it's really convenient that her spending can be linked to a specific pot as well. Reviewed on: 15th March 2023

Childrens account

Brilliant as they can only spend at a shop can't with draw cash out off a machine. So they are limited to what they can and can't spend . Happy with that. X Reviewed on: 15th March 2023

Poor customer service

Reply from HyperJar Hi Rebecca - we're so sorry not to have met your expectations for our child's card. As far as businesses not accepting the card, this is out of our control unfortunately. Some restaurant and leisure chains, for example, have a business registration 'code' that mean all children's payment cards are rejected - this can be because they serve alcohol on the premises. We know it's frustrating for parents and children when this happens and we will look at giving better information on our website about when and why kids' cards sometimes don't work. The same is true of cash withdrawals at ATMs: we don't offer this service for the child or adult cards. If this came as a surprise to you, that's down to us and we'll try to improve the way we communicate this in the sign-up process.
