Invest Engine - great low cost ETF only platform

It has been very easy to start investing using Invest Engine. As a beginner investor i have been looking at all the platforms available. There are the traditional platforms which have fees, and newer platforms such as Invest Engine with little to no fees... As i only wanted to start out investing in ETF's i chose Invest Engine and have been very pleased with everything so far. I set up a regular investment so i do not have to think about it every month, and this was really easy to do. I had some queries when i set up my account, and their customer service answered everything promptly. If there was any negatives to mention it would be that it takes a while for direct debits and orders to process, so you couldnt really use Invest Engine for trading... But for regular investors who want to cost average invest its great! Reviewed on: 11th February 2026

Very easy to use and ideal for beginners.

Very easy to use and ideal for beginners. The ETF-only approach keeps things simple, and the Insights section is excellent for building additional knowledge. The only drawback is that unused accounts (e.g., General or ISA) cannot be hidden, so they remain visible even if you’re only using the pension account. Reviewed on: 11th February 2026

Low charges but takes ages to add Tax Relief

InvestEngine has low charges, but takes ages to add Tax Relief (they say 6-11 weeks but it can even be longer). This is SLOW compared to other providers! For instance, my other SIPP provider Wealthify add the tax relief INSTANTLY, so if the fund is growing you get the growth on the tax relief amount immediately and for up to 11 weeks longer than with InvestEngine, which I have found on small deposits (mine are typically £120 - £240 per time, the growth I get with Wealthify is greater than the tiny saving in lower fees with InvestEngine.
