Great bank, providing a personal touch

Following my daughters sudden death I was left with unexpected costs I went on branch to get advice and a loan. The staff members and manager were so understanding and kind and helped me when I was at my lowest. The branch is in Sheffield, High Street. Reviewed on: 24th March 2026

Replacing our car.

When we needed to replace our car I decided that a personal loan from my bank was the simplest way to fund the purchase as I was not keen on leasing or any form of hire purchase. I applied on line and very quickly received an indication of the amount and cost of a loan and chose the amount I needed and it was credited to my current account very quickly enabling me to buy the car we had chosen without delay. Loan Nightmare!

I wasn’t sure about the exact amount of money that I needed to take out with a loan, it turned out that I was at least £2000 short. Although a higher loan amount wasn’t the problem however changing the loan amount was impossible without having to take a second loan with a much higher interest rate. Lloyds on line service is frankly crap, lacking in human help and advice. If I’d known what I know now either I would have taken out a bigger loan or not taken one out with Lloyds. Just great all round.

A reasonable interest rate is what first attracted me to use Lloyds Bank (my bank) for a personal loan. Later, I fell into financial difficulties. Lloyds Banking Group staff are incredibly well-trained and respectful of people having financial difficulties. They listened, and offered advice. When I told them I was suffering from extreme anxiety, they offered further help, and the staff I spoke to were all knowledgeable about mental health issues. Just AMAZING Reviewed on: 28th June 2023
