I took our insurance for our dogs having never had any issues other than the odd twinge or pulled muscle in any dog we’ve ever owned so I didn’t expect to have to use it but when I researched available options I was impressed with the coverage provided by Bought by Many for a price which others charged for a more basic coverage. As it happens, one of our dogs fell seriously ill when he was about 18 months old. He was rushed into hospital and stayed there for over a week and we were within a few hours of losing him; if he hadn’t gone into hospital that evening it would have been too late by the time the treatment began to work. I spoke to Bought by Many as soon as we knew he had to go to hospital and they couldn’t have been more caring and helpful at such a stressful time. They took care of everything and approved the claim right away and dealt directly with both our own vets and the veterinary hospital to settle any balances. After he was allowed home he remained on medication for almost a year and had bi-weekly blood tests. This treatment continued into the next policy year and I thought that since it was a ‘known’ issue that the cover would be removed but it wasn’t, which I was so impressed with. Our premium didn’t even go up that year. It did go up slightly the year after but only by a couple of pounds and this is for multiple dogs on a comprehensive coverage but an increase is to be expected particularly as they age. I couldn’t have been more impressed with an insurance company, they genuinely care about the health of our pets and in my view they offer market leading coverage for an extremely competitive rate.
