Great first time account

I opened this account for my child as his first bank account. He loved the idea of linking chores to receiving rewards. He’s been able to spend and save. He’s also learned how to negotiate for extra chores! Reviewed on: 18th March 2026

The app for building confidence for teens!

Easy to use app for parents and children. Excellent range of controls that you can adjust as your child gets older or more responsible- eg daily limit, single transaction limit, online use. I get alerts every time the card is used so you can monitor spending and quickly respond if anything needed (eg reset PIN after 5 contactless payments). The account fees is also waived if the parent is a Natwest customer so it is really good value and easy to top up from the NatWest app! It has been great for my son throughout secondary school! The App is easy to use, I love that it's free for current customers. Love the chores feature. Great features available. Recently the cards are due to expire, I received an email where it wasn't clear how I applied for a new one, this should be automatic surely? I'd also like to be able to top up the parent account from the rooster app rather than the NatWest one, or there be some kind of link and I approve it in NatWest. Reviewed on: 18th March 2026
