Perfect for helping kids learn how to manage money

With our society becoming increasingly cashless we began to look at options for teaching our son about payment cards. It was clear to us that having some kind of card and knowing how to use it is important. We were referred to Rooster Money by a friend and, after researching them and their competitors, came to the conclusion that they looked like the best option. They haven't disappointed! We've been using the Rooster Money card for our son for some time now. He loves it and so do we as his parents. It's super simple to use. We have a standing order set up from our bank for his pocket money to arrive in the Rooster Money app every Friday and then we take time together to distribute the money between his different 'pots' in the app: spending, saving, giving and his current goal (a Lego Millennium falcon). From a parent's perspective, the app is great. It is simple to manage the account, including setting spending limits, deciding where the card can be used, and receiving instant spend notifications. With a simple swipe we can allow (or remove) ATM withdrawals and in-store, contactless, online and overseas transactions. We can also instantly freeze the card if it ever gets lost! At the end of 2020 our son decided that he wanted to give the money he had saved in his giving 'pot' to a homeless charity and he was able to do this himself with his Rooster Money card via their website (with our help). This was his first time doing an online transaction and it worked seemlessly. Our daughter turns 6 this year and she is desperate to get in on the action! We would highly recommend the Rooster Money card to other parents looking for a safe, simple and fun payment card option that will help their children learn money-confidence early in their lives. Pocket Money

My lad who is 13 wanted to be able to go to the shops or for fast food with his mates...I decided it would be easier to provide a debit card to give him some responsibility and to earn pocket money...looked at loads of providers but Rooster hit every button for me... Reviewed on: 4th February 2021

We all love it!
